Triumph only identified the cars with the commission number. In the case of your car that is KF11817. Frame numbers run in a continuous series from the first Spitfire in 1962 to the last in 1980, and includes the GT6. All frame numbers begin with the prefix FC no matter what prefix the commission number may begin with. Frame numbers were not recorded as part of the build records for the cars. They were only used for the manufacturer's inventory control purposes."
